“Expression of Interest”

We have had limited stock of Sandpiper Bags, with COVID-19 affecting supply from the overseas manufacturer.

The good news is that 150 Sandpiper Bags have now arrived in Australia and we are beginning to re-establish supply.

Preference for bags will be to clinicians who

(a) have completed training in prehospital care, such as prior induction & work in a retrieval service, or courses such as ACRRM PHEC, PHTLS, SA RERN, RFDS STAR, SA&NT CART, ATACC etc

(b) are prepared to champion the role of Rural Generalists to ‘value add’ in rural communities

(c) have support from community to raise funds to purchase a bag and equip to the standard Sandpiper layout (this may mean purchasing own equipment, forming relationships with local clinic/hospital/ambulance)

Please note that Sandpiper Australia maintains a registry of Sandpiper Clinicians, including formal proof of AHPRA registration, demonstrated experience in prehospital care, formal agreement to stock the bag and return or decommission the bag if no longer in use. We also require a statement in regard to appropriate CPD, operation within existing scope-of-practice and willingness to promote local systems of emergency care.
